  • Wed, 21:22: I keep thinking about how all the novels and movies about outbreaks or pandemics always depict the worst-case scenario: *everyone* dies, either until a cure is found or until the world population is decimated. None of these depictions ever show the loneliness and monotony of just shutting everything down and hanging out at home for weeks on end, because that's not eerie or exciting enough for a gripping book or movie or TV show.

I hope to see eventual stories written about the myriad ways people have gotten unexpectedly creative and made things more exciting in the scenario we've actually got. It could range from a drama about a family forced to make emotional breakthroughs while quarantined, to a sitcom about four roommates who can only entertain each other for several months. The way pop culture reflects this uniquely global experience for a long time to come is going to be interesting.
  • Wed, 23:04: Only just realized the 19 in "COVID-19" is merely a reference to the year in which it first appeared (2019).

The whole name for the disease is just an incredibly simple abbreviation: "Corona [CO] Virus [VI] Disease [D] 2019."

It only took me two months to figure this out. Quick learner, that's me!
