Note that this decision was 5-4. We must be reminding ourselves, over and over: if President Fuckwit wins again, we're done. Huge rollbacks and losses will follow.

  • Thu, 12:32: I feel like this point really needs some attention. It’s been kind of stunning how many white people I’ve heard complain about being overwhelmed by the expectations of allyship, just in the past couple of weeks. Given that that feeling absolutely pales in comparison to what BIPOC deal with every day of their lives, here’s a gentle suggestion for the “overwhelmed white allies”: suck it up!

  • Thu, 22:46: CoronaQuarantine, Day 98

Mom is once again in the hospital. Apparently some slurred speech landed her in the ER this morning and then in an ICU at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene. I’m told she is stable and okay, but because she has fluid in her lungs and her blood pressure and oxygen levels are too low, they are keeping her there for monitoring for now, just to make sure she’s okay.

Reminder: she had a stroke in 2014 and has had several episodes like this, including hospitalizations, in the intervening time. It doesn’t sound like it’s a dire situation at present, but I know many of you would want to know. I’m not super worried just yet, aside from this episode being in the time of COVID and I just hate the idea of her being in a hospital right now in particular. Hopefully they let her go back home soon.
