Okay, so this is the largest number of ranked people on my Social Review since the last time I had 47, in summer 2019. To me, more than anything, this is indicative of how much we've all adapted to the rapid changes of our lives over the past nine months: only nine of these 47 people have been at any time truly in-person socializing, and even then always socially distanced and/or with masks on. The rest have all been video calls.

Total days in the winter with in-person social interaction: 43 (47.3%, a +7.1 percentage point change from summer)
And a whopping fourteen of the rest of them are represented by coworkers who have attended, one or more times, the weekly Zoom Office Meetup, four of thos ranking in the top ten—it's why Rebecca, of all people, beat out Shobhit for the top spot this time around, because she's the only one besides me who attends every single week. She kind of has to; she's officially the host. I'm sure glad she does, though.
I feel like it's still impressive Shobhit held strong at #2, all of that considered: so many others have been knocked down pretty dramatically from where they would be without these meetups. Most notably my neighbor Alexia, who at seven points ranked #2 last quarter, yet with the same number of points this quarter, she now ranks #7. Two other Weekly Meetup regulars also beat her out (Brent and Noah), and thanks to our biweekly "Movie Drafts" in addition to a few other virtual hangouts for various othe reasons, Gabriel and Lea rank #4 and #5, with 8 points each. (Or more specifically, eight separate instances of virtual hangouts.)
And again, just as I did last year, I did rank some people higher than others even though they had one fewer point than those ranked below them, just because the strict single hour spent on a regular basis with some meant it was easy to know I spent a cumulative lot more time with someone I ranked slightly higher. Thus Laney with her six points is ranked higher than Adrienne at her seven points, because Arienne was only ever one of a group with whom I spent a single hour at a time, whereas my "Virtual Happy Hours" with Laney are always two hours at least, and usually more. The few hours Shobhit and I spent with Danielle in-person the one time at Seward Park is ranked higher than a bunch of two-pointers below her for the same reason; I did the same with family we spent more quality time with when we met up with them at ZooLights in Tacoma. Granted, even that was barely more than an hour, but I still felt it justified the higher rankings for Dad, Sherri, Gina, Beth and Brandi—because it was much more notable time spent with them.
I mean, besides . . . I made these rules. I can fucking break them if I want!
Anyway, it kind of delights me that a whopping 47 people are on the list this time, although admittedly it's mostly because of large-group virtual hangouts: the weekly Office Meetup; the Office Halloween Happy Hour; the Office Holiday Happy Hour. All of these events added a lot of numbers. But holiday-season parties tended to back in the "normal times" too, which is what I was getting at before: we may be doing a huge majority of it virtually, but we still seem to have come to a noramlized place with this weird way of living our lives. Here's hoping it slowly eases back to more like it was over the course of the next year, but for now, let's just get to the who did what with whom where and when!
