Mon, 12:23: My favorite plant from the “Spooky Specimens Tour” at the Volunteer Park Conservatory on Saturday: “Dumb Cane.” Apparently a popular house plant, if you eat it, it can cause swelling of the throat to the point of an inability to speak for up to two days (hence the name).
