  • Sun, 11:37: Okay I just figured out something about further Light Rail expansions coming up sooner than you might think, which is kind of amazing.

Not just that, when "East Link Extension" to Redmond opens in only two more years, in 2023, it will add 10 new stations, between downtown Seattle and south Redmond. This alone will be by far the largest expansion of Light Rail since it very first opened in 2009.

But! Only one year later, by 2024, extra stations will then open on all three ends: four new stations stretching north from Northgate to Lynnwood; three new stations stretching south from Angle Lake (just south of the airport) to the Federal Way Transit Center; and another two stretching northeast into downtown Redmond. That's nine new stations in 2024 alone, after 10 opening in 2023.

With the three stations that opened this month, as of Northgate Extension we have 19 Light Rail stations right now. Over only the next three years, that number will double. https://t.co/lQ4Ckc7Zca
