Sat, 12:03: I can't get over how many people are insisting the Kyle Rittenhouse case is not about race just because the three people he shot were also white. The race of the people he shot is not the point here, in fact it's largely irrelevant. What's relevant is the race of Rittenhouse himself, and the insane amount of leniency given by the American judicial system to white people—even avowed white supremacists—a level of leniency not given to people of color, and especially to Black people.
Compare Kyle Rittenhouse to Tamir Rice (or a litany of others) and the difference is obvious and stark.
People trying to convince us this case had nothing to do with the race are the same people trying to convince us white supremacy doesn't exist at all, and in so doing they serve only to maintain white supremacy.
Sat, 19:38: I the Seattle Public Library! After I learned original World Trade Center architect Minoru Yamasaki had been local to Seattle and also designed three notable Seattle buildings, including two high-rises, I also learned about this book, published only just this past summer, and was disappointed the library wasn’t carrying it. But! All I had to do was send them a suggestion, and now I’ve got it in my hands!
Side note: walking to the library to pick up the book today, somehow I never noticed until now that Yamasaki buildings 1200 Fifth and Rainier Tower are diagonally right across the intersection from each other at 5th & University. https://t.co/dtIGjEcBy9
