Thu, 6:17: This photo says so much more now, about the era, about my mother (who collected mugs), about the financial state of our family at the time, about memory itself. At least it does from my perspective, anyway. I swore up and down as I was a kid that when I grew up I would always have a Christmas Tree, as in the late eighties we often didn't get one. In 1989, this was the best we got, a free tree no longer used at a nearby day care center or similar place, I forget where it had come from exactly. I was 13 years old and just excited to have a tree at all.
Side note: whoever hung that mug rack had a terrible eye for interior design. Why is it up so high? https://t.co/yaoyEUhmh2
