I have very, very little to tell here today, because I spent nearly the entirety of the evening last night writing up something else that will give you far more reading material than you're likely ever to want or need:
Cinema 2021: Best & Worst. It includes my eleven favorite movies from 2021, plus my five least favorite. I fear some of it may have been a tad rushed in the writing, maybe resulting in a large number of typos (I actually have no idea), because I was so intent on getting the full draft done last night.
With the exception of the film log of linked reviews for the entire year, which I always maintain as I go along, the rest of the post was started and finished yesterday—some of it, I will admit, while I was at work. But, the vast majority of it was written last night at home. I thought I would get it done more quickly but it was about 9:30 before I was finally done with it. I still waited to post it until this morning, as December 29 is the date I always post the Top Ten (or in this year's case, Eleven) Movies list. December 30 is when I send out my "Year at PCC" email photo digest, and then December 31 is when I post the Year in Ten Minutes Video. I still have some work cut out for me with that last one, albeit mostly just editing down to within Flickr's ten minute maximum.
Shobhit was obviously feeling lonely, so I went out and sat with him on the couch for maybe twenty minutes while he watched TV. But, then it was time for bed.

I did get some new, semi-interesting news at work this morning. My official supervisor is changing yet again, and it reverts back to Scott, Grocery Merchandiser. This always made more sense, really, as functionally my work relationship with him has never changed. But, over the years, every few years I report to the Grocery Merchandiser, and every few years I report to the Pricing Manager. Like so:
Stephanie S, Grocery Merchandiser: August 2002 - March 2008 [6 years]
Jennifer G, Director of Merchandising Projects: March 2008 - July 2013 [5 years]
Chris J, Merchandising Pricing Manager: July 2013 - Summer 2015 [2 years]
Scott O, Grocery Merchandiser: Summer 2015 - December 2018 [3 years]
Eric B, Pricing Manager: January 2019 - January 2022 [3 years]
Scott O, Grocery Merchandiser: January 2022 - whenever they arbitrarily switch it to the Pricing Manager again
I prefer it when it's the Grocery Merchandiser, honestly. Even though I think I have liked my annual reviews from Eric better, not that either he or Scott have ever been especially critical of my performance. Eric is already in the middle of reviews now apparently due late next month—I am so, so glad I don't have any direct reports—so he'll obviously still do this year's, especially given that he was my supervisor for the past year.
I had a meeting with him and Tracy for our "BIPOC Conversations" committee between 11 and noon today. Then there was a break for lunch. Usually that meeting and my one on one meeting (both virtual via Microsoft Teams) occur on Thursdays, but Eric is taking tomorrow off and so rescheduled them for today. I need to post this so I can be ready for my meeting with him at 1:00.
