Sat, 8:48: OOne year ago today. In retrospect, it's kind of stunning it took fully another ten days before the rest of the office was told they should start working from home—working from home had been highly discouraged for years prior. Well, I guess we showed them! It was a lot easier to do, and actually be productive doing it, than they believed.
The outlook for the rest of this year is a gradual easing back into working at the office (and I cannot wait!), but it will still likely never look the same as it did before the seismic shifts of the past year. In fact there is already a widely accepted expectation of a "hybrid approach" going forward, with some people still doing most of the work from home, some mostly at the office (that'll be me!), and some doing both depending on the day and their varying needs. Which was an approach that probably should have been taken long ago without a pandemic forcing it.
