In 1942, Japanese Americans were forced from their homes and placed in internment camps.

In 2001, anti-Muslim hate crimes spiked in the wake of 9/11, many of the victims misidentified by their idiot attackers.

In 2020, anti-Asian hate crimes increased in the wake of a global virus evidently coming out of China—again, many of the victims not even of Chinese descent, misidentified by their idiot attackers. Including four women of Koren descent among the eight victims shot and killed in Atlanta last night, six of them Asian Americans. The shooter's (preposterous) stated motivations don't change where this incident fits into the narrative of the past year.

Anyone who wants to say "This isn't who we are" might want to take a moment to reflect on this country's history.
