Wed, 9:22: Today marks the last day for the latest treasure to leave PCC. Arguments have been made that it's not actually goodbye since we know we'll stay in touch—okay, yes, that's true. But the loss to PCC still cannot be overstated, from countless angles: institutional knowledge, social cachet, humor, wisdom, and hell, straight up *vibe*. I've been here nineteen years and seen too many beloved colleagues come and go; Claudia is the latest and this place will be hobbled by her absence. She moves on to a very exciting next step in her own career, however, and that remains more important than everything I just said: for every place down the road for her, PCC's loss is their incredibly rich gain—and, hopefully, every bit as much of a gain for her.
