Many places in Seattle are already doing this; I have been predicting for weeks this would be increasingly widespread in the coming months; I am all for it and this move makes me proud of my city and region. This should be policy nationwide. (Honestly this doesn't go far enough: proof of negative test is easy to miss an infection depending on the timing—if it were up to me these places would require proof of vaccination, full stop.
