  • Wed, 13:47: And just like that . . . the first member of my all-time favorite band to go down. She was not young, she lived an extraordinary life, so to call it tragic would be somewhat of a stretch. But, that doesn't make me any less sad about it. Whatever slim hope there was left of getting Fleetwood Mac to tour with Stevie, Lindsey and Christine all together again is now gone forever.

I've seen Fleetwood Mac live four times, the first three of them with my sister Gina. The very first time I went, in 1997, My other sister Angel also came, along with Gina's ex-husband Dave, that one a genuine thrill because even then I had thought that lineup was done forever and they reunited.

When they toured again in 2003 and in 2009 though, Christine did not join them. She returned for their 2014 tour and I actually went to the Tacoma Dome by myself to see them. Totally worth it, a total blast, their singular chemistry and fantastically blended and harmonized vocals as good as ever.

These are memories I will always treasure, and the music itself, at least, will live on.

Christine McVie, Keyboardist and Singer for Fleetwood Mac, Dead at 79
