I spent so much time watching stuff at home last night, I never even restarted my computer, which I shut down before leaving for work every day, just so it gets restarted regularly. This was quite unusual.

Well, wait a minute. I wasn't home as early as usual either. I walked to the Downtown PCC store to pick up the member offer of a free Theo Chocolate Bar first. I had to buy something else in order to get the deal, so I got a box of Annie's Cheddar Bunnies crackers. Now we have two said boxes. Which is fine; Shobhit can be counted on to snack through them quickly enough.

From there, I walked to the Central Library to return a DVD. Shobhit then came to pick me up, arriving several minutes later than his GPS had estimated, almost certainly because of a bit of an accident at an intersection on Third, which was on our way to Costco, where we were aimed to be headed. Some huge semi with a long trailer of cars being pulled behind it was stuck on the crest of a hill, with the middle of the long trailer scraping the crest of the hill. I think it could no longer move because of it, and the front of the truck was smack in the middle of the intersection. All southbound traffic on Third had to filter off, turning left toward Fourth, and because it meant everyone southbound had to cram into the one lane that could bypass it—the left-turn-only lane—this took some time.

Once we got over to Fourth, Shobhit went down one more block to the south, turned right, and then left again on First, and then it was smooth sailing to Costco. He needed my FSA Card to order new lenses for his glasses. I wouldn't have needed to accompany him otherwise, but I had forgotten to give him the card.

Anyway, we then drove back up to Capitol Hill, placing an order for dinner via phone along the way, and then we went to a takeout place that would be this year's Valentine's Day dinner: Carmelo's Tacos. We might have actually gone out to eat somewhere, but Shobhit wanted to get dinner from there, as he's long wanted to try the place, so that's what we did. We picked up our order, then brought it home to eat.

I don't count just eating at home for the Social Review, though. So, holiday or not, no Social Review point for that. He'd only have gotten one had we eaten out somewhere. Granted, it's safer right now to eat in anyway.

While we were still in the car, I was looking at Twitter and found a Variety article listing the "14 Best Romantic Comedies in Movie History." I fully expected When Harry Met Sally... to be #1, and honestly, when they ranked that one only at #4, they kind of lost all credibility. (Puttng Crazy Rich Asians on it at all is frankly nuts—the value of an all-Asian cast cannot be overstated, but that's not synonymous with it being one of the best romantic comedies of all time.) Placing Four Weddings and a Funeral at #2 made a lot more sense, and then I was baffled by their placing Broadcast News at #1.

I'm pretty sure I had seen Broadcast News before, but it was long enough ago that I was too young to fully appreciate it. I found it on HBO Max and so we went ahead and watched that as we ate our dinner. I quite liked it, actually, but agree with Shobhit that while it has some funny parts, the movie overall isn't that funny, and placing at #1 is truly mystifying. But, whatever, articles like this are just trolls for clicks anyway.

Once that was over, after briefly considering waiting until today, I went ahead and just switched immediately to this week's episode of The Gilded Age, also on HBO Max. By the time that was done it was time for bed.

So, that was our romantic Valentine's Day evening. Tacos, a movie and a TV show. Exciting stuff!
