54. Joe: 1 Total days in the summer with social interaction: 57 (62%, a +1.1 percentage point change from spring)
. . . Well, this is interesting. A lot of notable details this quarter, aside from the total number of days with social interaction being only one day more (57) than it had been in the spring (56). And yet, I've got fifty-one people ranked on the summer list, as compared to 41 in the spring. And why? Because I had so many large gatherings of people—almost certainly the highest number within a three-month period than I've gone to since before the pandemic. I count nine since June 21 alone! *Kwanteria's goodbye brunch at work on June 29: four people noted to have interacted with me *My 20th anniversary party at work on August 5: there was a few more than this in attendance, but 11 people present worthy of getting a Social Review point *Hosting a dinner with Lynne, her best friend Darcie, Cathryn, and Cathryn's husband Christian at our place on August 12: that alone added four people who would otherwise not have been listed *Claudia's garden party at her house in Port Orchard on August 13: lots of people there, three of them getting points in addition to Claudia and Jasper *The Braeburn Condos Summer Social on August 17: another six people added who would not have otherwise been on this list *Two different "Action Movie Nights" at the Braeburn Condos Theater, on August 27 and on September 7: fourteen people present at each, but another three or so people I spent any real time socializing with *Gina and Beth's housewarming party on August 27: usually I exclude family gatherings from the Social Review, but this was a party that happened to have family add it, so I counted them, which placed four family members on this list who I wouldn't have otherwise *Office barbecue on August 31 I didn't even realize it until I wrote up this list that I basically did a shit ton of "party hopping" in August alone: seven gatherings of at least five or more people! And this isn't even to mention my July trip to Denver, affording Sara four points, her first since my last visit in 2019; plus meeting my cousin Heather and her two kids Michael and Isabella in Cheyenne during one day on that trip. Shobhit has really upped his social game as well, at least when it comes to me. 35 days we did something social together! This was helped in part by his accompanying me to Pride events in late June and then a trip to Vancouver in late July, but these made negligible differences; he'd still have a really high number regardless. As it is, though, this is the highest number of Social Review points he's gotten since the 38 he got for spring of 2018! (He came close in fall 2018, with 34.) As for other people, Laney went up one rank to #2 this time, before she will likely fall significantly for fall ; while she travels; Alexia was #2 last time and is now #4; Karen's up one from #6 to #5; Tracy's up one from #4 to #3; Ivan was #5 in the spring and fell off the list entirely again this quarter due to his moving across the country to Vermont (for now). Gabriel, who loves to talk about how stupid he thinks my Social Review is (he stands alone in this endeavor, same as his scoffing my my Birth Week as a concept), didn't even move and he fell of the list entirely. Danielle would have too, actually, if we hadn't managed to hang out with her two weekends ago (she's ranked at #16, highest of all those with a single point mostly just because I've known her the longest, and we did spend a few hours together—I spent longer with Heather, true, but I only just met her and thus the time with Danielle meant more to me). I also have a lot going on now with reliable regularity with specific people: longstanding biweekly lunches with Karen; new biweekly Action Movie Nights with my neighbors at the Braeburn; a newly established monthly virtual movie Watch Party with Kwanteria; just this week a newly established monthly Book Club meeting with a few coworkers. We'll see how the Book Club thing works out. Beyond that, let's get to the who did what with whom where and when!
