Apparently Shobhit can't catch a break. He's had to take the bus to work today, because this time he went down to the car and found not one, but
two tires completely flat—and not even the same one that was flat a few weeks ago. Presumably he'll have to call AAA again, and I don't even know how he's going to get the car where he can get them fixed this time; the trunk has only one spare. Does AAA have spares they can bring? Whatever the case, I'm sure we'll both be dealing with this in one way or another this evening. Oh wait, I just checked the AAA website—it looks like they'll likely tow the car to where it needs to get repaired. One of the flats is in the back, though; it's both the left-side tires, apparently a nail in the rear one.

I wasn't thinking when I rode my bike to work yesterday, because I had thought I would be going straight from work to Northgate—but now I needed to ride home first, to put my bike away before going to catch Light Rail at Capitol Hill Station.
Then Tracy and I coordinated that we would meet up for dinner beforehand. At first I suggested Watershed Pub, where we ate the last time we saw a movie at Regal Thornton Place. Then Tracy suggested Azteca, the Mexican restaurant on the opposite, north end of Northgate Mall, which meant meeting by 5:30. Then she remembered she had therapy last night and couldn't get there until 6:00 after all, so I suggested we go back to the Watershed Pub idea. I still left work 15 minutes early, locked my bike in the garage, put my helmet away, fed the cats, grabbed my library book and went to catch Light Rail.
I really thought I still needed to hustle. And then, I got to Watershed Pub by . . . 5:30. I had half an hour to kill. I found this really pretty green space used partly for sediment filtering in Thornton Creek for city rainwater that's between residential complexes behind the Regal theater building, and walked through there a bit. I should have grabbed a table as soon as I arrived, because by the time Tracy did arrive at 6:00, I went to put my name on the list at Watershed Pub and we still weren't seated by 6:10. The movie was at 7:00, so we just abandoned Watershed Pub and went over to Jewel Box Café, which is closer to the theater, allowed us to order the food right there at the counter, and it was much quicker, easier, and more casual. Plus our sandwiches were surprisingly good.
Apparently Tracy has had many first dates there.
Anyway, she started at
Funko just on Monday. She's already been given the Star Wars account! Signed an NDA and is working in a secret building and everything. I kind of wished Gabriel were with us. He'd have a ball talking to her about that. Apparently they have licensed over 500 Star Wars characters alone.
It was great seeing her again, if slightly different now that she doesn't work at PCC anymore. But it's not like I haven't kept lasting friendships with other former PCC employees. I'll be visiting Sara in Denver for the second time, next month. I should be going to see Claudia at her new house in Port Orchard hopefully sometime next month as well. Tracy is just added to the list, although I will likely continue spending more time with her than the others. We have another movie to see just next week.
What we saw last night was the George Michael documentary
Freedom Uncut, and I didn't even realize it had originally been a 2017 Showtime documentary until I was well into writing
my B-minus review. It only played its one showtime last night, and that's it. Tracy really wanted to see it, and I'm enough of a George Michael fan to be a discography completist, so I was up for it. It wasn't quite as good as I wanted it to be, but that's okay. It gave us an excuse to hang out.
We chatted for quite a while in her car before she even drove out of the parking spot, and then she drove me home. And I still have tons of work to get done today so I need to get back to that now.
