I thought about taking myself to a movie last night while Shobhit was on his virtual Braeburn Condos Board meeting, especially when I thought I might have plans every evening this week. Then I discovered two of the movies I had tentatively slated for going to see this week are already out of theaters; I missed my window. As such, I am only seeing two movies this week: the one I shifted to tonight instead, since Shobhit has a late shift today; and then the opening night of Jurassic World: Dominion, which Shobhit and Alexia and I will all be going to see Thursday night.

So, I'll just be home on Monday and Wednesday evenings this week. It gave me time last night to watch another episode of The Staircase on HBO Max anyway. Plus I got some reading done of my library book that is so overdue my account has been suspended. I should have it finished within the next day or two.

Otherwise, Shobhit and I will meet up with his cousin Harshal (pronounced like "Hirschel") on Friday; Laney and I thus shifted what originally had been a Happy Hour scheduled for Friday to a Happy Hour in the Park on Saturday afternoon; and then Shobhit and I leave for our anniversary trip to Victoria on Sunday. I can't wait!

In other news, Alexia is out of town Sunday evening through Thursday afternoon this week, in Portland for work. She says her job is shifting back to the way it used to be, with pretty constant travel; luckily she's around Sunday through Wednesday next week to look after Shanti and Guru while Shobhit and I are in Victoria.

In the meantime, though, I am looking after her cat, Cassie. She's ridiculously skittish and the last time I looked after her she never came out from under the bed. Amazingly though, she came out yesterday morning before I left for work, and even approached to let me pet her. I sent Alexia a couple of photos. She stayed out of sight both when I went to get her dinner last night and when I returned this morning, though, so we'll see if she ever comes out again.

I almost forgot to mention I made pasta for dinner last night. I kind of felt bad because as soon as I tasted it I knew Shobhit wasn't going to like it very much. It was too heavy on the veggie ground I added. It probably wouldn't have made any difference to him, but I probably should have only used half of it. I just didn't want to waste it. Also, I only had half a jar of pasta sauce to work with, because the last time I made pasta, Shobhit wanted less pasta sauce to be used.

He never tends to eat leftovers of pasta I make anyway, even when he likes it better than this. Still, when I was putting the leftovers in lunch containers, he went out of his way to say, "Don't pack any lunches for me. I didn't care for it." As if there's any differentiator in the lunch containers I ever pack. There wasn’t really any need for that at all, but, whatever.

In better news, the flat tire on his car should now be all fixed. He hasn't texted me to confirm, but I'm assuming it to be a success because if it weren't, he surely would have texted me to say so. He did text me about cheese that's on sale at Costco, which he clearly walked through while waiting for the tire to be fixed. I'm just glad the car will be back in ideal shape for driving to Canada this weekend.
