Shobhit and I don't often do anything particularly special for Valentine's Day, although I would say that, more often than not, we do go out to dinner somewhere.
Since each year the holiday yields only one or two photos at most, I have
one photo album on Flickr, covering the entire history of Valentine's Day. I didn't get around to it last night but soon enough I will add
the selfie I took with Shobhit in front of the poster for
80 for Brady outside the AMC at Pacific Place. We saw the movie there yesterday at 5:10; Shobhit walked from home and I met him there.
I was going to walk, but an idiot vendor called me at the end of the day and delayed me a bit, leaving not quite enough time to walk in time. So, I went over to Queen Anne Ave at Denny to barely catch a Rapid Ride D bus, and get off at 3rd & Pine. I still had another three and a half blocks to walk from there, so it was still just after 5:00 when I got there. I went to use the bathroom on the 4th floor of Pacific Place while I waited for Shobhit to arrive.
80 for Brady has been out for a week and a half already, and my initial plan had actually been to see it with Shobhit on Tuesday
last week. I knew Shobhit would have at least some interest in this film due to the four women starring in it, and would be more inclined to join me if I went on a Tuesday when his ticket would be discounted to $6.83. But, the State of the Union Address was that day and Shobhit wanted to watch it live. So, we decided we would just postpone it a week—and Shobhit liked this as an alternative idea for Valentine's Day, instead of spending the money to go out for dinner. We're trying to save all we can for our trip to Australia.
So, how was the movie? It was okay. Hokey as hell, but still some good laughs. We walked home (7,591 steps yesterday; I didn't make 10,000 again because I cheated with that bus ride) and I immediately heated up some leftovers for dinner and sat down to write
my review. B-minus.

After I finished the review, I went out into the living room and we barely had the time to watch the season finale of
Bad Sisters on Apple TV+. I found the conclusion both surprising, fairly unpredictable, and very satisfying. At least now we know how the hell JP died. I was getting impatient on that front, but should not have been surprised by getting strung along on that until the 10th and final episode.

Beyond that, getting back to today, I'm finding myself in multiple meetings this week to discuss coverage while I am on vacation, and it is making it difficult to stay on top of the actual work I need to get done this week. That fucking idiot vendor that called me yesterday was no help as far as that goes.
I have this week's 1:1 with both Gabby and Eric tomorrow, in which we'll go over my "goals" for the rest of this year, a new element of the annual review process. I'm actually glad to have gotten another week to come up with these, as we ran out of time for it in last week's meeting. I had been kind of approaching it in a way to come up with broad ideas that barely qualified as examples of "goals," but suddenly a few days ago I realized I have actual things I want to get done this year, that would make things better for myself as much as others, if not even more so. Once I could reframe it as a self-serving endeavor, it became a lot easier for me to wrap my head around. Ha! I love being on brand.
