TV Catchup Night

I was going to take myself to a movie last night, and then decided against it. I'll go after work tonight instead. There was a new episode of Perry Mason on HBO Max last night which, if I didn't watch last night, it would be days before I'd get to it; I was already five days behind on last Wednesday's episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+ (although frankly that show, in sharp contrast to seasons 1 and 2, is increasingly becoming white noise to me); and I was eager to get into further episodes of Beef on Netflix. I decided it would be a TV-catch-up evening.

I also made an executive decision that Shobhit and I would not make dinner together. The loaf of bread Alexia baked for us on Easter, which was amazing, was nearing its end, and I wanted to make at least one sandwich out of it before Shobhit ate the rest. So, that's what I had for dinner. I even texted Alexia a picture of it, with the caption Sandwich of Baking Champions. She seems pretty pleased by how enthusiastic I've been about how much I love that bread.

So, I ate the sandwich while watching The Mandalorian. It was possibly the most bonkers episode of the entire series, and the show's fans seem to agree with me: its user rating on IMDb is far lower than any of the other episodes, at least in season 3 anyway.

I went out to the living room to watch Perry Mason with Shobhit, which remains a solid, entertaining show for HBO. After that, I went back to the bedroom to watch episode 2 of Beef on Netflix, since Shobhit didn't like the first; the characters were too depressing and it put him in a foul state.

I might have liked to go on to episode three, but then I saw that I still had the Netflix Comedy Special by Mae Martin to watch, so that's what I then watched while getting ready for bed, and then took it with me on my iPad into bed.

In other news, I'm now in the middle with coordinating with people to schedule my Birth Week, and it's starting to come together. I'll be going to Shelton to stay overnight with Jennifer on Saturday, April 22; then stopping by Claudia's place in Port Orchard on my way back on Sunday. I still don't know when I'll fit Gabriel in, as with him it always has to be last minute, but I'm kind of hoping it can be either on the way to Jennifer's on Saturday or on Sunday evening coming back from Claudia's.

I'm tentatively scheduling Tracy for Friday evening, but if she gets moved to Monday evening then Gabriel becomes a possibility Friday as well. I've confirmed Valerie for Monday already; confirmed an overnight stay in Bellingham, where Dad and I will have our bike ride, on Tuesday and returning Wednesday the 26th; I've got Laney now on Thursday the 27th; likely Danielle on Friday the 28th; I need to contact Shauna about the possibility of Saturday the 29th. Because I've also confirmed meeting up with Mimi in the Skagit Valley on my actual birthday, April 30. I gave Shobhit the option of either those days that weekend for that day trip, knowing he may have other commitments for campaigning, but when I told him it would probably mean also being able to see the tulip fields, he suggested we make it our outing for my actual birthday. So there it is.

I also need to schedule Lynn somewhere, and maybe Karen. Oh shit, and also Alexia. Crap! Well, I still have time. It'll be fine, and it's already feeling like things are coming together.
