I need to try and make this brief today . . . which should thankfully be fairly easy as there's not a huge amount to tell anyway. But I've also got a lot to do. I'm very busy. I am so important!
Last night I left work early so I could make the 4:10 showing of
Air at Pacific Place. It was quite nice seeing a movie that early, actually, as it was barely 6:30 once it let out, even after way too many trailers before the movie. It was still light out, the morning rain had stopped, and I was able to read my library book walking home up Pine Street from there.
Shobhit had rice and a kind of Indian vegetable stew ready for dinner. I had a bit of that while getting into writing my review, which was done by about 7:30. Solid B.
Then, I discovered, even though
Ted Lasso officially releases on Wednesdays, it becomes available on Apple TV+ Tuesday evenings. This must be a similar thing to album releases on iTunes: once it's the release date on the east coast, we get it on the west coast simultabeously. Although I think we even watched it before 9:00. Maybe they go by Atlantic Standard Time, factoring in Canada? Newfoundland Standard? I don't know. Whatever, I found out I don't want to wait until Wednesday to watch Wednesday releases on Apple TV+.
Later, I made the mistake of opening up TikTok after getting into bed, and thus wound up awake until 11:30. Dammit! I need to reprogram my mobile devises to shut down when I should be sleeping. I had them doing that for a while and then it went away, maybe with a software update? I didn't manually change any settings to make that stop.

Cathryn here at work, who most days works from home, recently decided she would come in from Bainbridge Island to work in the office on Wednesdays. I suggested a couple of weeks ago that some Wednesday we get lunch together. Last week was out because we had our All-Department Merchandising meeting. So, I emailed her on Monday to suggest we do that this week. Thus, I just got back from lunch with Cathryn.
We decided on a nearby vegan cafe neither of us had been to, called
Broadfork Cafe. I was a bit taken aback by the prices, but whatever; I had budgeted $30 for this lunch anyway. In the end I spent $20.79 on a veggie wrap, which seemed reasonably priced until I went ahead with the added tofu, for which there was a $3.50 extra charge! Then with the 15% tip I still added, that was the total it came to.
This place is right on the corner of Queen Anne and Denny, which I walk past any time I go catch the bus after work. This was the first time I had ever walked in. They were out of a whole lot of stuff, apparently having been temporarily closed until just last Monday. My only options, really, were a salad or a veggie wrap. I went with the veggie wrap, and so did Cathryn, although I had mine with bell pepper and she had hers with broccoli, in both cases because they were also out of avocados, which I didn't want anyway.
The lady did offer me a free drink for my trouble though, which was nice. I had an Earl Grey. My only complaint was that, since it's a vegan cafe, they didn't have real creamer, and I had to settle for coconut creamer. That was a poor substitute, but whatever. It was free!
Anyway, I had to delay our getting over there by about ten minutes because Jeff asked me to send down an immediate batch of five new Beer & Wine skus, since Peter is evidently not in today. And then, after shooting the shit quite pleasantly with Cathryn, talking a lot about her trip to New York last December during which she and her husband caught covid, and so we talked a fair bit about our respective experiences with covid, she suddenly realized it was about three minutes to 1:00 and she needed to get back to the office for a meeting with one of the Deli Merchandisers. She thus had to run before I was ready to go, which was fine. I finished the first half of my veggie wrap, and boxed the other half to go. I'll eat that for dinner at my desk after work before I go to my next movie tonight.
