What can I tell you about today? Not a huge amount, which is fine by me; I've still got shit to do!
I did go to one more movie yesterday, this one at SIFF Cinema at the Uptown on Lower Queen Anne, a quick walk from work, at 5:30:
How to Blow Up a Pipleline. This movie, about radical protest action in response to the climate crisis, is a lot more nuanced than many people might expect. As I noted in my review, which I wrote shortly after taking the #8 bus home from there, I feel it is likely prescient.
Anyway it was a pretty chill evening, reading my book on the way home, and no need for dinner at home as I had the second half of the veggie wrap from lunch with Cathryn to eat before heading up to the movie.
Shobhit was a little down because he had knocked on some doors but didn't get any further with signatures or donations for his campaign. I think it may be time for him to start canvassing nearby places outside our building. He's also got the community kitchen on Saturday for another open house, during which Tracy will be coming over so we can
finally watch the third
Lord of the Rings movie,
Return of the King, and finish our run through the trilogy watch which we started
over a year ago (February, to be specific).

My Birth Week plans are now truly coming together. I did get a text from Dad this morning: he changed his mind about the bike ride in Bellingham. He and Sherri went to Skagit Valley the past two days for the Tulip Festival, which isn't quite as far as Bellingham, and he's decided Bellingham is too far to drive. Okay, that's fine. He's got another bike ride idea for a place near Puyallup, and I'm down with that. It also means now that I won't need to make it an overnight stay. I didn't have to reschedule the picnic lunch with Laney from Wednesday to Thursday after all, but that's also fine, not a big deal, and I'll just keep it on Thursday now.
As of today, I have at the very least connected with all but a couple of people I want to be spending time with that week. I exchanged messages with Jennifer and Shauna and Lynn all this morning. Karen is a maybe for lunch and I still need to talk to her about it; I also need to coordinate something with Alexia, who I'm now actually hoping will be available that Wednesday, the 26th. If so, then I'm basically now all set for that week.
My theme this year is "hidden gems," which isn't super specific, but oh well. I still like it, and it allows for a greater variety of activities. I also like that it can be used for restaurants as well as other things. So I'm still excited about it! Next year I may take up a broker suggestion from last year: islands.
