Not a lot to update you on today. If you want to read something
maybe more substantive, you can read
my review of the delightfully silly Jason Statham action movie
The Beekeeper, which I took myself to see after work yesterday.
I did go home briefly first, actually catching the #8 bus up to Capitol Hill rather than walking, for efficiency of time management; I even left work about ten minutes early to catch it, getting me home shortly after 5:00. I ate the last of the leftover pasta we made for Action Movie Night on Wednesday for my dinner, barely getting that and some dishwashing and feeding the cats done in time to walk downtown to catch the 5:50 showing at Pacific Place.
One Bus Away told me that a bus was coming to my stop in four minutes, but I smartly started walking anyway. The amount of rush-hour traffic on the streets at this time, particularly westbound on Pine Street, was astonishing, and I was moderately amused by the fact that the bus kept getting further slightly delayed with every next bus stop I passed, at almost all of which One Bus Away said the bus was arriving in four minutes.
By the time I passed the stop I would otherwise have gotten
off the bus at (Pine and 9th), One Bus Away now said the bus was arriving in five minutes. I walked about a mile, at my normal pace, and not only did I stay ahead of the bus the entire distance, I actually made better time than the bus did.

Anything else? I can't think of much. Except, maybe, to say that I had my weekly 1:1 meeting over Teams with Gabby this morning (she works from home most days), and a meeting scheduled usually for thirty minutes only lasted twenty, and even that after sharing what our weekend plans were. As usual, I am seeing multiple movies. Also Happy Hour with Laney tomorrow afternoon.
Anyway, I did also mention this: waiting for news about what's going on at work that I can't write about in detail here (yet?), the experience seems strikingly similar to waiting for the results of the Presidential election. It's either going to be a huge relief, or it's going to be a fucking disaster. Fun!
Marie told me this morning that she's having dinner with friends tonight, and will still have her phone at the ready on a certain web page that she assumes should have certain news to share. I don't know, we'll see about that. Some elements of this have already been postponed a bit, so I've had the expectation since at least Tuesday that it could be another week before we truly know anything definitive.
For now, I'm taking the approach that, while often easier said than done, has been my approach to things for a very long time: I'm not going to worry about it until something happens that proves there's definitively something to worry about.
