Shobhit, in his capacity on the local SAG-AFTRA board, attended the Tasveer Film Festival's first day of their "Film Market" yesterday. I didn't even know the extent of what they got to do all day until he told me more after he got home, although he did send me some photos in the middle of the day. On Harbor Island—which I visited with Alexia during my Birth Week as part of this year's "islands" theme—there is a new film studio, called Harbor Island Studios. It opened in 2021, and apparently in an effort to promote it, Tasveer Film Market attendees yesterday were driven from Seattle Center to the studio to get a look at it.

Shobhit knew about it, and even mentioned it, when Alexia and I went to Harbor Island. We had no access to the studio, however, and I certainly never even figured out exactly where it was. Still, I added the 10 photos Shobhit sent me from the island or the studio itself to the end of my Harbor Island photo album. All 12 of the photos Shobhit sent me, though, I also added to the Tasveer Film Festival and Market 2024 photo album, which I renamed from what it was previously: "Tasveer Film Festival and Launch Party," those photos being from last month. I will also be joining Shobhit for the film festival Opening Night Event tomorrow night, and will likely take at least a few photos there that I can also add to the photo album.

Anyway. Shobhit walked to Seattle Center to get his steps in. They had refreshments there; Shobhit texted me that he had two glasses of wine, one cup of chai, and some of the provided snacks. (I just made myself the second half of my bag of Field Roast frozen veggie corn dogs.) After they were driven back to Seattle Center, Shobhit manned a SAG-AFTRA table: he was a key part of making SAG-AFTRA a minor sponsor of the festival, and is hoping to get them more directly involved next year. This festival is in its 19th year and has become a pretty big deal; it's now the only Oscar-qualifying South Asian film festival in the U.S., and apparently Netflix will be visiting the Film Market today. Shobhit walked home from Seattle Center, killing two birds with one stone by both getting his steps in and avoiding driving after drinking.

Shortly after he got home, we watched the last two episodes of season two of Pachinko on Apple TV+. What a great show. I even got Laney to start watching, and she is suitably impressed as well.

I just got back from lunch with Gabby and Amy, one more stint over to Moto Pizza a couple of blocks away. We're really taking seriously the idea of savoring that place before we move office locations next year.

We actually all placed our own orders this time! That was a first. Gabby can't be buying all our lunches forever though. My personal "root," mushroom-centric pizza (the one I buy every time) was actually worth the roughly $16 I paid for it with tax and tip. I ate a yogurt cup instead of cereal this morning because I knew we'd be having lunch. That was at most a third of the calories I'd have had with cereal, maybe as little as a quarter. Smart move, I think. Especially sicne we also have Action Movie Night tonight and there is sure to be lots of food to eat there.

Addison, from Marketing, came in while we were there, and sat down with us for several minutes. Should I give him a Social Review point? I guess I'll ponder that for a while. He told us all about a new house he and his wife and dog just bought and moved into in White Center. Before he arrived, a lot of the discussion was about Amy's recent trips, apparently three separate ones since the last time we all had pizza. I had just had my 1:1 meeting with Gabby for the week directly beforehand and had already filled her in on all the fun stuff I've been doing. I also told her all about Shobhit's involvement with SAG-AFTRA and Tasveer and his little adventure yesterday.

The biggest topic of conversation otherwise is the shutoff of all the plumbing. Not just in our office, but in the entire building. Eight years in this offive and this has never happened before. I can't say I'm that surprised; the management company sucks and it feels like they've just gotten more neglectful over time. There was talk about how long people will stay before they give up and go home. We all got an email suggestin we use the bathrooms in the gym across the skbridge in the building across the street. Addison told us there's one toilet each for the men's and women's room over there. Jesus Christ.

I'm still drinking my tea, which is maybe a dumb move. I can just go across the street of I need to pee again. I used the bathroom in the building where Moto Pizza is located right before coming back and can just go over there again if I have to. We saw people pushing something down a drain in the sidewalk outside the building entrance upon our return. Maybe fortune will favor me (as it really tends to) and the problem will be fixed before it becomes a prohibitive problem for me.

We all went over at 11:30 so I'm back and posting a bit earlier than usual.
