Fri, 14:06: Justices appear likely to uphold Tennessee ban on treatments for trans teens
"[Justice] Roberts suggested that the case turns on evolving medical practices. He said the Constitution leaves such questions to 'the people’s representatives rather than to nine people, none of whom is a doctor.'"
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Does he think any of the state legislators passing anti-trans laws are doctors either, let alone basing a single thing they are doing on what doctors actually recommend? THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT.
Oh my god that outrageous dipshittery makes me so angry.
Also, side note: these medical practices are not nearly as "evolving" as Roberts is asserting. There is settled consensus on treatment of trans people, and yes even trans minors, in medical science. None of which are state legislators paying any heed to whatsoever.
