Yet again: what a morning! UAT testing this week for a new application we'll be using for Price Generation . . . I had a scheduled Teams meeting with key people inovled with that between 9 and 10 a.m.; then Amanda wanted to get on a call so I could help go over some of the script with her, and that took the
next solid hour; Amanda and I discovered several wonky issues that I felt it best to talk over in person with Marie over in IT so I walked over to her, and that took another solid 45 minutes.
I actually have plenty of other work to do too. So much for getting any of that done this morning!
I found a sample bag of Justin's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Candy Pieces in the Merchandising pantry though. That really helped.

With Guru improving a bit compared to the weekend and no vet appointment for him yesterday morning after all, Laney and I kept our scheduled Happy Hour. This meant hanging out with her three days in a row, which is kind of a lot, but we don't ever seem to get sick of each other. Besides, under normal circumstances it would have been just the Double Feature on Sunday and then Happy Hour yesterday; I was going to attend the Fremont Solstice Parade on Saturday regardless. Had Shobhit had the day off, he likely would have too. Laney happened to be available and she had never been, so that worked out well.
We had planned to go to a place for the first time called Donna's last night, with a very fun looking Happy Hour menu, at Olive and Melrose. I rode my bike there and Laney was waiting already at about 4:50. She then informed me they were closed, for a "staff outing." Damn those people, doing something nice for their staff! What about us?
Laney suggested we just go to La Cocina Oaxaqueña instead. It was just around the corner and at the end of the block, at
Pine and Melrose. We got there and received a reminder that they are not open on Mondays at all. Well, shit.
We then mosied over to Pike, and up the street to the east a few blocks, and wound up back at
La Josie's, our second time there.
At least now we don't care for their queso sauce they put on nachos, which we ordered last time. We avoided that this time and ordered the "chicken enchilada" without the chicken instead. It was quite good. I also had an order of their curly fries without the queso. They were very good and Shobhit would have absolutely loved them. I had budgeted $50 for this and my total came to $49.98. Hey, I came in under budget! Anyway, the biggest reason it was still so high is that I not only had two margaritas, but I had one of the "Pride Specials" that cost $14 rather than the $10 Happy Hour margarita. It was a spectacular drink though, totally worth it.
