Thu, 8:31: When I was in college in Pullman one night after an evening Physics lab, I saw what can only by simple definition be described as UFOs: three lights in the night sky that would easily appear to be stars were they still, but they raced around each other, almost playfully, across the night sky in movements that seemed to defy logic as far as known aircraft were concerned.
But, this was twenty years ago, and memory is notoriously unreliable -- time in particular inevitably distorts and exaggerates it. This is now so widely known and extensively documented that eyewitness testimony in court cases is no longer regarded as reliable.
So basically this means that, whatever I see now in my mind's eye of that memory from twenty years ago, is not what I actually saw. All this is to say that facing reality -- or, perhaps more accurately, probable reality -- is a real fucking killjoy.

Thu, 16:37: Lately I’ve taken to random bursts of singing gibberish, like
🎶 “DEE-de-deeee do-do do doooo!” 🎶
but when I did it without thinking while on the toilet at work, I thought, maybe I should rein it in a little.
