Wed, 9:15: Given the consistent messaging that when large numbers of women accuse a man then *of course* they should be believed, that people are unconvinced by now FOUR PEOPLE having accused Michael Jackson is astonishing.
There is a lot that particularly people who have not survived this kind of abuse do not understand, and let me tell you unequivocally:
*Noting that the current accusers once perjured themselves to defend Michael Jackson is in no way a defense of Jackson. The alliance of the victims to their abusers as laid out by the accusers in LEAVING NEVERLAND is actually typical of many child molestation survivors.
*The grooming techniques described by both men in the film, who did not meet each other to compare stories until filming was done, is startlingly consistent -- both with each other's accounts, and with typical pedophile behavior. (I know this from both documented patterns of pedophilia, as well as personal experience.)
*Constantly bringing up so-called "total lack of evidence" that resulted in past acquittals of Jackson is disingenuous. Trust me, finding physical evidence of sexual misconduct with children can be extraordinarily difficult, and the testimony of children -- often inconsistent and easily led, by definition BECAUSE THEY ARE CHILDREN -- is notoriously unreliable. The testimony of adults is much more so.
*These two men's independent accounts paralleling each other to the point of corroboration *qualifies* as evidence!
*Refusal even to watch this documentary (with the exception of fellow victims wanting to avoid being triggered) is willful denial and self-delusion. Actually watching it and then denouncing these two men *and* their families as liars is straight up insane.
