You guys I have such an exciting Daily Lunch Update for you today! I did laundry last night!!
I also ate a veggie chicken patty sandwich for dinner, with some Doritos that I'm beginning to think are just as bad for my weight management as chocolate truffles (I may be on to something there), and once Shobhit got home from work at about 8:45, we watched the latest episode of Pose before I went to bed.
I have to say I have kind of mixed feelings about that show. There's a lot to like for a multitude of reasons, not least of which is the unprecedented authenticity of representation (all of the trans characters on that show are played by trans actors). But the writing, well . . . it's just not great. The plot beats and season-long story arcs are well constructed, but the dialogue is often stilted, unnaturally obvious, or both. It's a key element it has in common with Glee, also produced by Ryan Murphy, and a big reason I gave up on that show about halfway through its run. I don't expect to give up on Pose; the talent and chemistry of the cast alone makes it worth watching. But, god, I wish the dialogue were better written.
You just can't have everything.
What else, then? It was barely misting this morning so I did not ride my bike to work and took the bus downtown instead, then walked the last mile for twenty minutes, by which the rain stopped completely so I was able to read my library book (Mr. Know-it-All: The Tarnished Wisdom of a Filth Elder by John Waters) while I walked. It wasn't raining at lunch just now either, but it was still cloudy, midsixties and plenty windy so I ate my Amy's Burrito for lunch by myself in the office kitchen.
I did not realize that burrito was "low sodium" when I purchased it. I'm not usually one to consider salt an essential ingredient but holy shit. That was like eating beans wrapped in baked construction paper. I actually poured salt onto it and it was nominally better.
Okay, there you go. That's it, you're all caught up today!
