  • Wed, 14:57: Quick Mom update, even though there is very little new to share—but I don't want to leave people hanging who will be wanting to know.

Just keep this in mind: if you hear nothing about it for a few days, it just means nothing has changed. As soon as something does change, you will hear about it here.

I did not speak directly with a doctor today, for the first time since last Friday, mostly because I already knew there would be nothing new to report. I did get a call from Christopher, that he and Bill had visited again today. Bill apparently wants to give her at least a couple more days. That's not what I want or what Mom would want, but Bill has to be considered here too.

I get the feeling the people at ICU in Kootenai Health are being as flexible as they can, but they have made it clear that at some point their hand will be forced and they will have to move Mom to a nursing care facility, which is especially something we want to avoid—and something Mom would absolutely want to avoid. That is, unless we make the decision first to take her off the respirator. That's basically the position the rest of us have settled on since yesterday.

For the time being, we just wait. We wait for Bill to make the call—the worst call he'll ever have to make in his life—or, we wait for the inevitable. Let's all just hope and pray the inevitable does not get dragged out for too unnecessarily long a time.
  • Wed, 20:29: I implore you: put this Netflix documentary on your screen. Even if you feel like you’re the most empathetic person you know when it comes to trans issues, I guarantee you, you will find this film uniquely illuminating. It will break open your mind further than you thought possible. https://t.co/tLbzRzazTQ
