. . . Damn! Holy shit did my social activities skyrocket this quarter compared to the last—for nearly every three days over the past three months, I did some kind of socializing during two of them. Not only have I not socialized this much since before the pandemic, I haven't had overall numbers this high since the fall of 2018. There are two notable contributions to this fact: in addition to my Birth Week—which alway ups the numbers for the spring quarter by default—I took not one, but two four-night trips out of state: visiting Barbara in Louisville in late March; and going to Victoria with Shobhit last weekend. Since every day of a trip with or visiting someone out of town counts toward the Social Review (and always has), those two trips combined alone added eight days to the number of days in which I socialized, on top of the ten for my Birth Week—plus another three total "make-up days" that had to be rescheduled for it later. Then, of course, Alexia, Laney, Tracy, Ivan, and Karen all have several points each, cumulatively contributing a significant amount to my social life. Ivan's six points were almost a surprise, given that he officially moved out by May 1, and by then he'd only racked up three points. But, because I also count every day of an out-of-town visitor at our place, after he stayed two nights (and three days) when he returned briefly from British Columbia and then flew out to Pennsylvania, that last visit doubled his points. Alexia continues to dominate the #2 spot, with the very same number of points (11) that she earned last quarter. Laney jumped up significantly from 5th place with 4 points, to 3rd place with 9 points. She'll probably pull similar numbers over summer and then lower again over fall as we'll then be back to monthly (or maybe twice-monthly) virtual Happy Hours while she's back on the road for her retirement travels. Tracy's and Karen's respective spots are fairly typical these days. It will be interesting to see how things with Tracy go going forward, now that she no longer works at PCC—she left after only a bit more than two years with us. But, we already have plans both this week and next week, with a slight possibility of two things next week. I do love that Barbara, who seriously dominated the #1 spot for many years in the early days, is back on the list. She won't be again for at least another couple of years, probably. But it was pretty awesome to experience how she really is the kind of friend I could see for the first time in eleven years and we just pick right up from where we left off, as though we'd never been apart. No awkwardness between her and me, which I love. I'm kind of bummed Danielle has only one point. She should have more than that. I'll have to see if I can't do better with her over the summer. I'd say the same about Gabriel, but he is always a wildcard when it comes to how often we hang out. I sort of got lucky to get to see him even three days over the spring (albeit one of them being virtual, while I was in Louisville watching the Oscars with Barbara). All the rest are fairly random, but the number of people I hung out with over the course of spring nearly doubled, from 23 to 41. It's like things are starting to look sort of normal again. So, let's get to the who did what with whom where and when!
