Sat, 14:38: #BirthWeek train #13! Willapa Hills Trail, between South Bend and Raymond, WA. Just a roughly eight-mile round trip bike ride on a path which, like many bike paths these days, used to be a railroad. Neither of us have done any other long rides in over a year so the shorter route was just as well. https://t.co/Pnf90F1Pi6
Sat, 22:10: #BirthWeek train … or I guess, railroad #14! Just to the west of the “Auburn Environmental Park,” a wetlands park that Gabriel informed us was a pathetic concession in response to far greater area of wetlands that were developed into the so-called “SuperMall of the Great Northwest” in Auburn in 1995. It features a quarter-mile boardwalk trail, and I found it by searching for the closest park to Federal Way that was near railroad tracks.
Gabriel then led me to another wetlands park, this one in Federal Way, “West Hylebos Wetlands,” which is much bigger and much better, with far greater length of boardwalk trails. And although fitting this into my theme of “trains and railroads” for my Birth Week is clearly a stretch, as Lea noted, “boardwalks are the railroads of feet!” https://t.co/CeBVDHQNZX
