Wed, 09:20:
Seattle's (specifically, SeaTac Airport's) high temperature readings the past week:
Thursday, July 4: high 82°F
Friday, July 5: high 88°F
Saturday, July 6: high 90°F
Sunday, July 7: high 92°F
Monday, July 8: high 94°
Tuesday, July 9: high 97°F
Wednesday, July 10: forecast high 87°
And listen: I know that many if you have been in much hotter weather, you don't need to come at me about that. You should also bear in mind that we all get acclimated to the region in which we live. Seattle's normal high in July is *77 degrees*—absolutely perfect, as far as I'm concerned, and much cooler than normal summer temperatures for many of you in other places. Since Friday, our weather has been between 13% and 25% hotter than normal. It's too fucking much!
And of course, thanks to climate change, what's "normal" is changing, getting progressively hotter—whether it's here or wherever you are. What I hate the most is when it gets so hot for so long that even 85° feels like a relief. That's just stupid. I'm eager for a return to nights when I can sleep below rather than on top of the covers.
