end of the week bits
Very little for me to update you on today. Last night was filled up with this week's stint at Steamworks, which was dull as hell for about two and a half hours, relatively exciting for half an hour after that, then kind of amazing for the last hour -- but, I was there a long time, and did virtually nothing else all evening. I did go home and feed the cats and have a veggie hot dog for dinner first. I'm eating stuff like that a lot because I don't get to very often when Shobhit's home and constantly wants to cook elaborate dishes with lots of leftovers.
Speaking of which, Shobhit is thinking about starting a catering business. This is an iffy prospect at best, but then again, he would be doing something he loves. Who thinks he should do it?
Selfishly, I kind of worry about how much of my time would wind up having to be devoted to helping with it. Photos and social media, that kind of stuff -- I'd be all over it. I don't especially want to spend hours helping him cook, though. I already have a full time job. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
The sun continues to shine, but forecast still calls for rain -- although, right now, it's only a 30% chance this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. That means there's a 40% greater chance that it won't rain. I really want it to. I don't want my having brought my umbrella, and my not biking to work today, to go to waste!
I do have a pretty busy weekend shaping up. I'll probably go to a movie both tonight and on Sunday. Laney's coming for a double feature of Die Hard 2 (set at the D.C. airport) and Airplane! tomorrow. Also I have my ticket to see Maria Bamford at The Moore Theatre tomorrow night. I paid $27.50 to be literally in the back of the second balcony, and I'm having to go by myself, but I don't care! Hopefully I'll remember to bring binoculars. And in addition to all that I hope to get some grocery shopping done before Shobhit gets back from India. He returns Monday afternoon and I'm taking half the day off so I can go pick him up at the airport.
I guess one of the airlines he's using is having so many financial troubles that they are having to cancel flights, and they finally did cancel the one on the first leg of three for his trip back. It's just the two-hour trip from Delhi to Mumbai though and he was able to reschedule for another flight two hours earlier, so it wasn't that big a deal. Probably a good thing he paid for trip insurance though. We don't usually do that, but for travel of this magnitude, it's a good idea.
